Have you ever had one of those days where it just seems like the sun refuses to shine on you?
Everyone has rough days, and sometimes it’s hard to see the wonderful bits of life when you feel down. But luckily we have a few experiments that can help you find those smiles on low days.
Try a little gratitude: A simple ‘thank you’ goes a long way. It might seem strange to think that you will cheer up when you take the time to notice someone else, but thanking someone for a small and simple action can take you outside of yourself for a bit. Now experiment: Try thanking at least ten people in one day for something simple and see how you feel at the end of the day!
Go outside. Nature is the best place to look for a little bit of joy. Take a small ‘me’ break and get outside. Go for a quick walk, turn off the cellphone and just try to notice things around you. As you do so, you will see that there is so much beauty in the world to be grateful for. Try this experiment every day for a week and see how different you feel at the end of your week!
